Next time you drop into your local Lowe's for some home improvement needs,
don't be surprised if you see the cashier ring you out with the iPhone held in
their hand -- the company is adding 42,000 iPhones in an effort to streamline
the way they do business and help their customers. 9to5Mac is reporting that
Lowe's has purchased 42,000 iPhones in an effort to "process payments and
answer customers' questions." According to Bloomberg , that equates to about
25 iPhones per retail store, who is also enhancing their existing website as
part of an initiative to catch up to number one home improvement retailer Home
Depot. "Next month, Lowe's will introduce its MyLowes online tool that
customers will be able to use to store owner's manuals, warranties and paint
formulas," Chief Information Officer Mike Brown explained in an interview with
Bloomberg.
